At a very early age my grandad introduced me, being an enthusiast himself, to steam trains - often taking me to the Bluebell Railway.
I remember that if he could not take me then I would pester my parents every few weeks to do so!

As I grew older and learnt more and more about steam railways I also developed a further interest in the transport of the past that was around alongside them at the same time. Due to my local model shop I also got into modelling these to go with my train set, especially military vehicles and aeroplanes.

As my train set developed into a model railway as I grew older likewise did my passion for the real thing as I became a 9F club member and then a volunteer at the Bluebell Railway, in the Locomotive Department. It was through doing the volunteering that I was in the right place at the right time when a paid position on the railway became available - but I still carry on with the volunteer role alongside.

The paid position is within the catering department and it sees me working on the Golden Arrow dinning service train, amongst other tasks.

Away from the Bluebell I still model make and am a regular at my local model railway club and also do a bit of WW2 re-enacting.

In any other spare time I get I like to play drums.
